📢 Public Consultation Open for Northern Battery BESS Project​
Submissions close at 5:00 pm on Monday, 30 March 2026.
Northern Battery is pleased to announce that the public consultation for our proposed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is now open. The consultation provides an opportunity for the community and stakeholders to review key project documents, including the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and the Statement of Environmental Objectives (SEO), and provide feedback.
The Northern Battery BESS is planned at 420 Northern Power Station Road, Port Paterson, SA, leveraging existing infrastructure to support South Australia’s renewable energy transition. With a capacity of up to 270 MW and be capable of storing up to 8 hours of electricity, the facility will help balance the electricity grid, store excess renewable energy, and contribute to a more sustainable energy future.
